We are home for a day and leaving again tomorrow morning for Alfred. Really looking forward to it. The condo in Vermillion was nice. Righ on the lake. Water was so rough, it sounded like we were by the ocean. Rudy stayed at Aunt Rosie's. Uncle John and Angela were there for the 4th. Rosie asked for your blog - Mary Lou didn't think she had e-mail. Your pictures of the Colloseum are awesome!! Sounds like you are getting the most out of every day. It almost felt like I was at the Vatican today. Four bishops and several other priests concelebrated Mrs. Hlavaty's funeral Mass. It was so nice to see Bishop Gries. Told him you were in Rome. His advice... When in Rome... He asked if you'd be visiting the Vatican - said yes. Looks like nice weather where you're at. Keeep on posting!! We love you, Mom
I will be traveling in Europe for a little over five weeks this summer starting on June 13 and ending July 22. The first part of the trip is academia related consisting of time spent in Germany and Poland. In Germany, about thirty students and I from the Global Leadership Center at Ohio University will be completing collaborative work with students from the University of Leipzig. We will be finishing policy papers pertaining to German and American relations in the areas of environment, security and economics. My teammates and I have been focusing on German and U.S. approaches to debt relief in developing nations, specifically Ecuador. When the policy papers are finished, we will be presenting to consulates at the embassy where our papers will be taken for recommendation consideration. Our trip to Poland is an introduction to our project that will being fall quarter. We will mostly be taking part in leadership conferences while in Warsaw and Krakow. After the academic portion of the summer concludes, I will be traveling with four other girls - Diana, Tara, Abby and Jackie - to Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid (where I will be celebrating my 21st birthday). Throughout the summer I will be blogging about my journey and posting pictures along the way. Feel free to ask questions and comment as you please :)
