Laura The sights look fabulous. The buildings are picturesque (sp?) and the sky so blue! Based on what everyone is wearing I'm guessing it is warm. Any Polish treats? They certainly loved Pope John Paul. I'm think of you every day. No news from the biker - he's in the NY Mountains. But I'm sure you are following too. We love you - The Van Horns
Hi Toots, Your pictures of Kazimierz and Old Town Warsaw look awesome!! Makes me want to tour Europe...some day. Aunt Mary Lou has been on your blog and she sent me e-mail addresses for Bill, Mike and John. Jacob's been on also. Soon, you'll have quite a following. You and your friends all look like you are enjoying the sites and nice weather. Brian made it to Syracuse and is off on a picnic today with his department. Dad is attempting to organize the garage. I'm off to get paint for Brian's room. Love you, Mom
I will be traveling in Europe for a little over five weeks this summer starting on June 13 and ending July 22. The first part of the trip is academia related consisting of time spent in Germany and Poland. In Germany, about thirty students and I from the Global Leadership Center at Ohio University will be completing collaborative work with students from the University of Leipzig. We will be finishing policy papers pertaining to German and American relations in the areas of environment, security and economics. My teammates and I have been focusing on German and U.S. approaches to debt relief in developing nations, specifically Ecuador. When the policy papers are finished, we will be presenting to consulates at the embassy where our papers will be taken for recommendation consideration. Our trip to Poland is an introduction to our project that will being fall quarter. We will mostly be taking part in leadership conferences while in Warsaw and Krakow. After the academic portion of the summer concludes, I will be traveling with four other girls - Diana, Tara, Abby and Jackie - to Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid (where I will be celebrating my 21st birthday). Throughout the summer I will be blogging about my journey and posting pictures along the way. Feel free to ask questions and comment as you please :)
